Maintenance and restoration of your pool table
Even well-made pool tables need regular maintenance. Although it is not uncommon for Breton billiards to cross generations, some of their components will naturally wear out over time (the rubber bands and the cloth in particular).
It is therefore advisable to maintain these elements according to the use of your billiard table. A move or the purchase of a second-hand billiard table can therefore be the right time to renovate a billiard table so that it once again provides you with satisfactory playing conditions.

Replacing the bands
It is an essential element of your pool table since the balls bounce on it. Depending on the type of rubber used (molded or extruded strips) the performance of your pool table can be very different. But it is also a living material which, over time, dries out and loses its elastic properties. It is therefore essential to replace the billiard cushions according to their lifespan. For example, the Klematch and Artemis strips that we use on all our models have a lifespan of around 20 years… This means that the performance of your pool table will deteriorate over time.
Replacing the bands consists of bringing the frame of bands to the workshop in order to adapt new rubbers to your billiard table. As each production has its specificities, it is important to bring the tapes back to the workshop. Our craftsmen can thus replace the rubber band support cleat to respect the height and inclination of the band nose.
Sheet change
The lifespan of a billiard cloth is of course directly related to the number of hours you spend playing. It also depends on the type of cloth: the French billiard or carom billiard cloth is thinner than the American billiard cloth and can wear out more quickly.
A billiard cloth maintains daily with a brush or vacuum cleaner. However, as it is used, the sheet will naturally wear down and lose its original color. It is then a good idea to replace it, especially since it may be an opportunity to change color! Of course, the cloth is changed for the playing area as well as for the cushions.
Our experienced technicians can renovate the cloth on all brands and types of billiards. This operation is done at your home, requires between 2 and 4 hours of intervention and gives rise to the control of the flatness of your billiard table.

Heating compliance
Heating, mainly used for French billiards, improves the rolling of a billiard. If you recover a second-hand French billiard table equipped with a heater, you must ensure that it complies.
Indeed, reinstalling an electrical system that does not meet more than current standards can be dangerous. On some models, you can even find asbestos, an extremely harmful material. We manufacture for you a heating adapted to your billiard table, equipped with sheathed resistance installed on fireproof M1 chipboard panels, in order to meet current standards. Using an electronic thermostat will allow you to better control the temperature of the playing surface and the power consumption.
Renovation of an old billiard table
Do you have the opportunity to recover an old billiard table or one in poor condition? Its renovation is a meticulous operation during which our professionals will change the bands and cloth of your billiard table, but also cabinetmaking operations, in order to restore damaged parts or change the finish of your billiard table.
This operation can also be an opportunity to improve the flatness of the billiard table by replacing the stone or the wooden board with a real set of slates.
Finally, it is possible to transform a French billiard table into an American billiard table. This must be the subject of a precise estimate which will include the dismantling / reassembly of the billiard table, the opening of the game pockets on the bands, the adaptation of the slates, the ball recovery system… We can even install the system French-American mix by plugs.
While buying a new billiard table is sometimes more economical, restoring an old billiard table can allow you to enjoy it again of a piece of furniture that is part of your heritage!
